About THE ARTIST…..

I am a self-taught Artist and began painting as a means of dealing with my father’s tragic death. I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri where I earned my bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Lindenwood University, and currently reside in Savannah, Georga where I’ve created, taught, and implemented my Budding Artists Program for Ages: 6-8, 9-11 and 12-14 through the Chatham County Public Schools in honor of my dad Carold “Joe Black” Jones bringing awareness and understanding of how the arts have the power to heal emotional trauma.

Artist Statement: I use art as the freedom to express myself without judgment and as a therapeutic tool to deal with life's daily stressors. Engaging with a paintbrush or any artistic medium provides me with a therapeutic escape from the demands of everyday life. It serves as a means to explore my emotions, express my thoughts, and reflect on my experiences. It is an integral part of my daily activities that contributes to my overall well-being and allows me to thrive both personally and professionally. I believe art and Artists have the power to heal, inspire, provoke and challenge others to go within themselves and create outside the norm.
